Romans 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes:  first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Are you an undercover Christian?

Sometimes it feels scary to be open about our faith, because we are afraid of what people might think of us.  And we should be prayerful and wise about how we talk about our relationship with God.  But one thing is certain:  We should be talking about it.  If we neglect to talk about our faith we are missing opportunities to share the very power that can bring salvation to the people in our lives.

You may be the only Christian that your friends or co-workers would listen to.  And  you might be surprised that God has prepared hearts for what you have to say.  You living out your faith naturally will open doors to share with the people in your life.

Here are a few ways to make it easier to share your faith naturally:
1.  Pray specifically for a few people in your life.  Think about the people you talk to often, or know you’ll be seeing in the near future.  Ask God to prepare hearts and open doors.
2.  Look for opportunities.  Since you have prayed, trust that God will be faithful to answer.  Be looking for natural opportunities.
3.  Be bold.  Don’t feel like you have to say anything perfect, simply talk about what God has done in your life, and be ready to tell the basic message of the Gospel:  Jesus came to this earth, and gave His life to save sinners.  Trusting in Him will bring salvation.  (practice in your own words, making it clear and simple.)
4.  Trust God with the results.  If you do not see an open door, trust God’s timing.  Love your friends right where they are, and keep praying.  God might speak to them through someone else, or in a different way, but at least you’ll know you did your part.

Try following these steps this week, and encourage another friend to do the same.  We’d love for you to comment if you have had an opportunity recently to share your faith and how God has been faithful!
