“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” -1 Corinthians 13:11 (NLT)

Even as believers, we can feel defeated through negative thinking. Our minds can get stuck in childish patterns. We might have put our trust in Jesus for Salvation, but find ourselves living in a state of frustration because our minds have simply not been renewed. The good news is: It doesn’t have to stay that way.

Part of growing in our relationship with God, is renewing our minds through His Word, and spending time in His Presence. When we read His Word, and apply it to our life, we begin to more naturally think His thoughts. This is the process of growing up in our thinking. Growing up in our thinking leads to growing up in our actions. We find Wisdom to apply to the things we face in life. That is when we begin to spend less time frustrated, and more time fulfilled.

Don’t be cheated of the peace that is yours through a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have been saved, make it your goal to grow up in Him. Daily. Put away childish thoughts and actions, and fully commit to doing things God’s way. Invest time in His Word, and spend time with Him. Choose to make your walk match your talk, and then you can look forward to not only the blessing of Heaven, but also a blessed life here on earth.

A challenge for this week: Be intentional about your time with God and in His Word this week. Then look for real changes in both your thinking and your life because of it. Feel free to share your experience doing this in comments! Encourage one another.
