Brazilian worship leader, Maria Puliese first came into contact with Walking On Water when she lived in San Diego California for 12 years. During her stay in the States, Maria was encouraged by the ministry’s unique ability to connect people to God through surfing. Maria explains, “Seeing the impact that Walking On Water has on its surrounding surfing community inspired me to reach the lost souls in my home-country of Brazil, so two years ago I moved back home to take action. This past year my pastor shared his vision about doing more outreaches. Immediately I thought of Bryan Jennings and the Walking On Water Ministry.  I knew that bringing Bryan and Tom Curren to Brazil during the WT Contest in Rio would be an amazing opportunity to lead people to Christ. The process of making it happen wasn’t easy, we literally had to learn how to ‘walk on water’ by trusting in the Lord, reminding ourselves that in him ALL things are possible and that his plans are unstoppable. As always, God was faithful, and the event was indeed fruitful!  I believe in and support the Walking On Water Ministry because it causes people think about their lives and their purpose- that life isn’t only about catching the best wave but that there is a God who created the waves, a God who is alive and who deeply desires to have a relationship with them. ”
