JP Koch is a missionary in Japan, and a friend of the Walking On Water Ministry.  JP and his wife Nora have a two year old son, and are expecting another baby this November.  Jp is a long term missionary with OMF International as a church planter in Sapporo, the biggest city in Hokkaido, Japan. They have spent five years in Japan, their first four years being a time of training with language and culture study and getting trained as church planters.

This last year JP started working with Christian Surfers Japan in Hokkaido.  The Walking On Water team came alongside him to help make connections in the initial stage of the new ministry.  Together, they drove 900 miles across wild Hokkaido through an area with literally no churches, no Christian witnesses, and almost no Christians.  It was so encouraging to see that God had prepared hearts before they arrived;  The owners of a ‘pension’ where they stayed were touched by God, and moved to tears as the team prayed for them.   Recently, JP was able to go back and visit the couple, and brought them a Bible. The couple live near a famous surf break, and there is no church near where they live, so they are praying for and envisioning a new church with a surf outreach in their area.

It is exciting to see what God is doing through JP and his family.  What a blessing to realize that the Walking On Water Ministry is able to team up with others serving God all over the world and share in the excitement of what God is doing!
