This August we were back in Japan for our 11th annual mission trip. We went to Hokkaido Japan in the far north, which boasts of some of the best snow in the world, and a thriving surf culture. Our team —made up of people from the USA, Australia, Germany and Japan — unified together under the name of Jesus to be a light to the Japanese surfers we met. If I were to describe the trip in two words they would be “God’s Faithfulness.” God was faithful to answer all our prayers with a “yes.” He kept us unified, protected us spiritually, provided us with opportunities to share the gospel and used us to encourage the missionaries we partnered with.

This year we were able to give out 850 Beyond Sight DVDs! That means 850 surfers now have the opportunity to watch an inspiring surf movie and hear the gospel at the same time (the DVD’s have Japanese subtitles). For these surfers it will probably be the first time they will hear about Jesus. Japan is in desperate need of the hope, joy and peace only Jesus can offer. Today there is still less than 1% of the population who claim to follow Jesus and indeed there are still more surfers in Japan then Christians. I encourage you to prayerfully consider joining us next August in Japan where you can use your love for surfing to further God’s kingdom. If you are interested please email [email protected]
