2013 Surf Camp Update

Beyond Sight Movie Update February 2013

WOW! This second filming trip to the North Shore was incredibly blessed. We were joined by Magno who is Derek's friend and mentor and he is a pro-bodyboarder who was instrumental in training Derek in his quest to conquer pipeline. Magno believed in Derek when nobody else did and he reminded me of the importance of having mentors and role models in our lives. Magno is really the true hero of Derek's story. 11 Time world champion surfer Kelly Slater was on the North Shore and joined us for 2 surf sessions at Pipeline. Derek was also joined by fellow Cobian Sandals Team Riders Nikki Viesins, TJ Barron, and Nate Yeomans for a photo shoot. Throughout the week we had incredible wave conditions that allowed us to get virtually every shot we had on the list including filming Derek Rabelo getting barreled with Mike Stewart (Legendary Bodyboarder) on a bodyboard together at Pipeline. Andrew Pereira from KITV4 News which is a Honolulu CNN affiliate news station had us film an interview that will hopefully be on CNN promoting the Beyond Sight movie soon. Surf contest announcer Dave Stanfield did some great voice overs for us, Derek Ho surfed Pipe with Derek Rabelo, Dominic Balli gave us a private concert, and to top the week off, Derek and Sean Marin (One of our Filmer/Editors) were both baptized at Pipeline by Pastor Luiz who is Derek's pastor in Hawaii. Derek will be in San Diego February 27th - March 3rd for a few days of filming. In March we will be doing the final filming trip to Derek's hometown in Brazil. Pipeline Masters – Beyond Sight Filming Trip

God truly did more than we could have ever asked or imagined! God opened every door possible including being invited by Billabong to the Billabong Pipeline masters, spending time with current world champion Joel Parkinson, filming with Kelly Slater, Derek getting great waves at Pipeline, and surfing with many of the best surfers on planet earth! One of the highlights of the trip was showing the Beyond Sight movie trailer to a packed Surfer Bar just before Tom Curren played music. The crowd loved meeting Derek and watching the movie trailer and our team then passed out 150 free Walking On Water dvds. Derek was able to meet and film with Bruce Irons, Gerry Lopez, Sunny Garcia, Reef Macintosh, Makua Rothman, Kala Alexander, John John Florence, TJ Barron, Coco Ho, Lakey Peterson and many others. Billabong also made sure to feature our team and the Beyond Sight 1 minute video on the live webcast seen by every surfer in the world. On the final day of the trip I had the honor of introducing Derek Rabelo to Bethany Hamilton. They are both inspiring this entire generation so I am glad that they are now friends. We had a fun day filming for the Beyond Sight movie together. Thank you for all of your support and prayers! Beyond Sight filming at Hurley Pro 2012

We had a VERY blessed week at the Hurley Lowers Pro 2012 filming the Beyond Sight movie (About Derek Rabelo blind surfer who surfed Pipeline). Bruno Lemos and the S4J Hawaii Productions were in town for this special week of filming. We surfed/filmed/interviewed Taj Burrow, Joel Parkinson, Kelly Slater, Peter King, Adriano De Souza, Jadson Andre, Damien Hobgood, and others. Bob Hurley and Pat O'connel made sure we were on the live webcast each day talking about Rob Machado surfing with Derek. What a very blessed week!!!! Thank you Hurley team! Hawaii Family Missions Trip

Thank you for your interest in our Walking On Water Family trip with special guest Bethany Hamilton this Nov. 10th and 11th in Waikiki, Hawaii. My wife Korin and one year old daughter Ella are so excited to host our 2nd Walking On Water Family trip to Waikiki and so hope you and your family can join us! We are hosting this special Hawaii trip with the following goals:

1. To give you and your family a special time together in beautiful Hawaii.
2. To give you and your family an opportunity to serve God together and share the Gospel with the people of Oahu through praying for Hawaii, hosting a Walking On Water movie night outreach, handing out Walking On Water DVDs to the international tourists, and serving a poor community.
3. To encourage you and your family through our morning devotionals and special guests.
4. To inspire your children to see all future trips as opportunities to serve and share the Gospel.
5. To get to know you and your families better with the hopes that you will join our Walking On Water family for a long time.
6. To raise funds that will enable the Walking On Water ministry to continue to share the Gospel around the world.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:
The Walking On Water staff will provide two full days that will include: Morning devotional on beach, 2 hour surf lessons for entire family, photos of your surf sessions, 1,000 Walking On Water DVDs to giveaway to tourist on beach, time with our special guests pro surfers and actors/actresses, a Walking On Water movie night outreach, and a serving opportunity in a poor community.

COST:
Each family is responsible to book and pay for their flights, hotel, meals, and travel arrangements. This trip is also a fundraiser for the Walking On Water ministry. We ask that each family prayerfully considers either joining our core monthly financial support team of at least $50 per month and/or making a one time suggested donation of $1,000 or more. These funds will help Walking On Water continue to share the Gospel with this generation! HOTEL INFO:
You can stay at whatever hotel you prefer. We have a low group rate discount with the Pacific Beach Hotel (http://www.pacificbeachhotel.com/) which is 1 block from the surf spot at Waikiki Beach on Oahu. Korin and I stayed here last time and the location is great, rooms are nice, and there is a 24 Hour fitness attached. The Pacific Beach Hotel nightly room rates are $139 standard room, $159 Partial Oceanview, $189 Oceanview, and $229 for Oceanfront. They obviously could use some encouragement.

Tom Curren filming in Israel for our next movie!

I could not believe it when our director emailed me from Israel letting me know they were surfing really good waves! This only happens a few times a year in Israel and for it to happen while they were there was a miracle! Another miracle was having 3X world champion surfer Tom Curren there to star in our next movie titled Promised Land!
