God is always in control. We need to keep this in mind, even as we make plans for our days. You can start your day in prayer and reading the Bible, and ask God to lead you. Then, as you walk through your days, look for His hand in all you do. Do not expect things to go as you planned, but be open, always looking to see God's hand leading, sometimes shifting the course, for His will to be done.
On days where things go smooth, you may feel like you are in God's perfect will. This is how we wish it could always be. But when trials come, you might question if it is His will. However, it is then that it is even more important to look for what God might be doing. Sometimes God is accomplishing His will the most, when things do not go as you had planned.
One great way to welcome God's plan in your life is to thank Him for the trials that you face. James 1:2 says to "consider it pure joy" when you face trials of many kinds. As you thank God in all circumstances you welcome what He is doing, and you get the added blessing of being actively involved in His work.
Begin your day with the Lord, and then let Him direct your every step. Enjoy the happy, peaceful times, thanking Him in the midst of them. And trust and thank Him in the trials, too, knowing that His ways and His thoughts are always higher than ours.
