At Walking On Water Surf Camps we have a unique tradition. Every Friday we invite the campers to be baptized. However, as we baptize them, we bring them up from the water, and then have them surf a wave to shore! This summer saw more than 200 campers, 44 baptisms and too many waves to count. Camps are our absolute favorite time of the year and it is sad to say goodbye to the campers, but we are so excited about all that God accomplished this summer! In addition to the 44 baptisms (more than we’ve ever had in the last 5 years) 72 campers either made a first time decision or a recommitment to do life with Jesus. Thanks to the generosity of donors from our Banquet Dinners and the Surf Marathon, we were able to offer more than $20,000 in Scholarship this summer. These are just numbers, but point to a beautiful movement of God. Powerful, God-ordained relationships were also built. New friendships between camper and camper, camper and counselor, counselor and counselor, and so many more. Walking On Water was also blessed to make many new friends, and to see those friends grow as God allowed them to use their abilities to bless the Walking On Water Surf Camps.
Our camps ministry is gearing up for our first Young Leader Camp this year from September 9-11. The Lower’s Grom Weekend is an amazing time of fun & growth for students age 11-16. To sign up for this or other Young Leader Camps, email [email protected]
