The New Year is looking bright for so many reasons in the Walking On Water ministry. One exciting thing is the addition of a new team member to the WOW staff: Katherine Miranda.
Katherine began volunteering with WOW at age 18. She has helped with surf camps, outreach events, and movie showings during her school breaks as she attended Seattle Pacific University.
Katherine’s heart for mentoring young girls has continued to grow, and when she graduated from SPU last summer, she felt the Lord calling her to get more involved with WOW.
“I really want to reach out to more young girls, to empower and encourage them to be leaders. I want to to offer them a community, not just during summer camp, but throughout the whole year.” Katherine is now getting a chance to do exactly that as she plans girls weekends, outreach events and all kinds of creative ways to reach out to, and mentor Jr. High and High school girls.
Katherine loves Matthew 5:13-16, and feels called to be salt and light to the girls she works with. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and there is no doubt the girls she works with will spread that salt and light into their own families and communities.
