Bruno Lemos is a talented photographer and filmer originally from Brazil and now lives on the North Shore of Oahu where he met Derek Rabelo at the Brazilian church.  Derek is a blind surfer also from Brazil and was on the North Shore pursuing his lifelong dream to surf Pipeline.  Though many surfers aspire to conquer Pipeline, none of them imagine making the conquest  blind.  This fact alone compelled Bruno to gather his Souls 4 Jesus Hawaii Productions  team (Pastor Luiz De Oliveira, Lika Maia, Raquel Rache, Claudia Lemos , Milena Zumbach,  Luiz Werneck ,and Carlos San Felice) and the Da Hui family to help Derek surf Pipeline.  Makua Rothman and many others took Derek out to surf Pipeline and made sure that he got the waves he needed despite the competitive crowd of surfers.  Bruno caught Derek’s achievement on film and then posted a short video of this amazing feat on Youtube.  The video quickly became viral and reached nearly 500,000 views.  Derek was also on the Hawaiian news and a popular nationwide Brazilian tv show.

While filming in Brazil, Derek’s home country, Bruno was introduced to Bryan Jennings during a Rio showing of the film “Walking on Water.”  Bryan spent time surfing and filming with Derek and Bruno's team.  Bruno was very impressed with Walking on Water’s past productions and, "Loved the idea of having a version of Derek's story produced by WOW Films.”  Bruno and Bryan agreed to co-produce the Derek Rabelo surf documentary “Beyond Sight.

During the Summer of 2012, Bryan invited Derek to come to California as a special guest for the Walking On Water surf camps and also to start filming the Beyond Sight movie.  Within a week God opened doors for Derek to surf and film with 11 Time World Champion Kelly Slater, 3 Time World Champion Tom Curren, Laird Hamilton, Rob Machado, Damien Hobgood, Makua Rothman, Lakey Peterson, and Coco Ho. 

The Beyond Sight movie is off to an amazing start.  The next steps are to film in Brazil, Hawaii, and one other location.  Because of Bruno and the S4J Hawaii Productions team taking a step of faith to help Derek surf Pipeline, the entire surf world has already been inspired by Derek's story!  Walking On Water films is very honored to work together with Bruno's team to produce such a special movie!  Our goal is to finish filming the movie in December of 2012 and release the movie in the Spring of 2013.
